[Private; hackable by friends]These last few weeks have given me quite a lot to think about. I was terrified when I was a child... if it wasn't for so many of the kind people here, I would have spent the entire week hiding. I remembered a lot; about Espers, and magicite, and... how rare magic really is in my world. I still don't understand... my ( Read more... )

Oh, that's not your fault. It confuses a lot of people. Here...

[She holds out a piece of magicite to him.] This is magicite. I haven't remembered much, but it's all that remains of an Esper, a magical being from my world.

...Huh. I guess we really do come from different worlds. I never expected magic to actually exist, even here.

Magic is very real in my world, I assure you. Would you like me to prove it?

Well, I'm sure you know lots of people... You're very friendly.

Do you really want to go with me?

According to the book I found in the library, the Tanabata is based on a legend of two mythological lovers, Orihime the weaving princess and Hikoboshi the cow herder. They were wed but were so absorbed in their love that they neglected their duties and were forced to separate by Orihime's father, Tentei, the sky king, but are allowed to meet once a year on the night of July 7th, assuming that the weather is favorable.

Really? I had no idea there was such a sad story behind it...

It is sad, but I also think it's a bit beautiful. They loved each other enough to continue on just to see each other one night out of the year... that's quite a powerful emotion.

It is, indeed.

Love, hmm...?

Do you plan on going as well, then, Terra?

And as...normal as it is, it will be refreshing. It's much better for there to be something calmer to allow us to get our memories back...

Is everything all right, though?

I was thinking about it, yes... and a friend of mine just asked me to go with him. I take it you'll be going, too?

I agree, even if it is a bit strange.

I've just got a lot on my mind, that's all.

I am.

All right...as long as everything is okay.

I'm sure you have a date as well, right?

...Thank you, Fiona. How are you doing?

I can't say for certain what Tanabata is. I do know that this is different from what happened last year.

Oh? What happened last year?

Well, what appeared to be fragments of stars were found littered around the area. At the same time, I believe there was a notice that anyone who found these fragments should... do something with them, I forget. I never found one of the stars myself.

By the time the actual day rolled around, the weather was indeed favorable and made quite the sight.

Star fragments? They must have been very pretty.

You've been here for over a year, Erk?
