For Logan and Heather

Mar 28, 2009 13:58

The seasons were turning. Winter was making way for spring and the coastline already showed a flush of flowering amongst the cliffs and gullies. The ocean was still angry, waves crashing against the beach and eating at the sand. They tossed up spray, cloaking the sky in a continual haze that shook the light of dawn ( Read more... )

The ride to the beach house was quiet and relaxing. It felt good to get away. A break in their routine and something that was not tied to work.

Logan had only met Michael once a couple of years back, but he was fairly certain that Heather knew him much better. He'd gotten the impression they were good friends and remembering that solitary conversation, Logan could see why. Michael had been easy to talk to.

As they exited their vehicle, Logan's curiosity got the better of him. "So, how well did you and Michael know each other?"

The drive to Michael had been pleasant and a break to visit him could be just what was needed. Heather was looking forward to seeing him again after so long and with them living closer she couldn't belive this hadn't been done sooner. Locking the car Heather watched the waves on the beach warily before looking up and appraising the house.

Smiling to Logan and intuiting where his curiosity lay, "We are friends and I met him when I was living in L.A. He's a good man."

Seeing him on the deck she waved and walked closer. "Hey stranger. Long time no see. How are you?"

[ooc - sorry for lateness guys]

A dog barked in the distance and suddenly Rayne came arrowing out of the mist, alerted to visitors and distracted from her morning seagull run. She would have leapt onto his visitors, more playfully than seriously, but sandy and wet, nonetheless, if Michael hadn't moved quickly enough to jump off the decking and grab her collar. She wriggled in his hand, excited, but Michael gave her a stern, but quiet word and she settled down, sitting her behind in the sand and resorting to eyeing the visitors instead.

Michael looked up with a slightly embarrassed grin. "Hi, guys. Great to see you." He noted the changes in Heather and smiled at Logan. "We're good." Rayne yipped at them. "Uh, this is Rayne."

Chuckling lightly, Logan extended his hand to Michael in greeting.

"It's good to see you as well. How old is the pup?"
