Oh, Failcob. He's the only one who's worth the ride and that's why she mutilated him so hard D:

The one good thing I will say about Twilight is that it gave me an ego-boost: if that got published, I, too, CAN get published.

I thought more along the lines of: if THAT got published, why can't I write something better and get teh moneyz as well? Well, that's the catch, as soon as you try publishing something better you'll have a heck of a time trying to get someone to do you the favor. That's what happened to Ayn Rand when she tried to publish The Fountainhead. You know, AWESOME novel, had to go through a lot of publishing houses before one had the dignity to publish it.

That said, I feel like playing with glitter.

Maybe I'm just being bitchy, but it feels like there's a new emerging genre of young adult literature: stupid lit. You know, along the lines of "Let's emulate catty, spoiled highschool twats!" or "Hey, I'm a Mary-Sue in my own story!" (Gossip Girl and Eragon, respectively.) *Shakes head* It used to be that a character was well developed if he/she overcame trials and tribulations through emotional growth. Now, it's "We don't care if this person is useless, we will tell you he/she is awesome until you believe it!" (Ginny, I am looking at you. Although the HP series was OK about that for the most part.)

...I really want bad books to get what they deserve. But how?

See, I put Ginny as a borderline Sue because she's not the protagonist. And I can see how she could get to be so amazing in lots of things without it being just weird (since she's the youngest and all, I know how many kids do get up to copying skills their older brothers had). B-but this one. I just. What.

I. I don't know. I really don't know. Hope that better writers are emerging?

I read the first few pages of it and thought it was trash. But I'm still very confused as to why its so popular, so I was debating reading it anyways. Do you at least recommend me trying to read it?

I read it mostly so some people would stop saying that I would like it if I gave it a chance, so. Um. I dunno? If you already have it, I guess you could, at least to ease the mental itch it gives?

I haven't read Twilight (and I don't intend to) but I already dislike it. I've heard it's very popular amongst young girls...which is concerning.

I'm not really allowed to complain about unhealthy fictional relationships because hey, my OTP is Seishirou/Subaru, but whenever anyone pretends it's an example of a happy, perfect relationship, at least they get laughed out of town. Methinks the Twilight fandom is different.

See, that's the thing. If this was treated as a creepy, obsessive, stalking relationship? THAT would be a different song. BUT IT'S NOT. It's supposed to be this peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerfect amazing love that forgives eeeeeeeeeeeeeeverything.

See, that's a big point from what I've read of this novels. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER BEATS THE HELL OUT OF YOU AND RUINS YOUR FACE, BECAUSE YOU LOVE HIM AND HE DIDN'T MEAN TO.

So apart from the stuff I'd already heard about...he beats her up and ruins her face? He WHAT? And it is justified? Oh, this book gets even better. And by better I mean plummetingly worse.

Not her, but there's this relationship in the books where a werewolf in a fit of rage or something like that pretty much destroys half of the face of his girlfriend. And people TOTALLY think it's sweet that she stays with him because 'it wasn't really him' and all that.

The whole first book? It REEKS of abuse.Like, I got SO INCREDIBLY OFFENDED because Sparkles decides to take Bella to the prom, when Bella had SAID she didn't want to go. But Sparkles decided that he wasn't going to make Bella miss anything in her life. EVEN STUFF SHE HAD SAID SHE DIDN'T WANT TO.

¿Edward? Total Stu.
