Yeah, Election Day. And I'm glued to the TV after getting home from work, watching the states come in. No alcohol this year, though. The wait is agonizing and I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high, but damn is it hard. A few hours to go

I remember driving by a gas station when the price fell below $3, saw the sign for $2.99 and literally thought: "$2.99? $2.99 for what?" And then I passed by and it hit me...that was the GAS price. Like, really. The price just fell under $2.60 in places out here. I envy you and your $1.99 gas.

I honestly think Obama is going to win this one. He has Ohio and Pennsylvania (which was never going to go republican, no matter how many news networks discussed this possibility, but whatever), and I imagine he'll take Florida and North Carolina as well.

LOL, there's not a lot Iowa has going for it, but lower gas prices are a definite plus.

I wish you had told me that about Pennsylvania a week ago. It would have saved me some needless worry.

With Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New Mexico I believe he has it pretty well sewn up. Toss in Iowa and Illinois that just got called, and the expectation of California, Oregon, and Washington I'm not sure if the other tossups are needed.

I'm still saving the celebration for 270 (not to mention official, not projected, results), but damn am I feeling pretty good right now.

Registered democrats outnumber registered republicans here by something like a million people, so I've been told. Unions are just too big here to let the conservative middle of the country (what we call our Alabama) gain much ground in elections. Not that people tried desperately to swing it republican. Damn, I'm going to be glad to never see another McCain ad again!

...and Obama is president! (11:00 PM) :D
