The little AU: Winter Hopes: Air
slashfairy ~~
He puts a few things in a bag- the pants Orli bought him, already too large in the waist; an extra sweater, some silk long underwear, nearly invisible under street clothes- and a couple of books: one on ethics, one on compassion; and one titled Hope in the Darkness, by Rebecca Solnit.
It's only a couple three days in New York/ Boston for filming for Howard's series, but he'll go see Henry, his cousins, his mom, then fly home for a few more weeks of rigorous relaxation before filming for The Road starts.
He's heard a bit of industry buzz about Comanche Moon, though, that makes him smile- one fellow even says that when he wasn't watching the screen, he really couldn't tell the difference between Karl's Woodrow Call and Tommy Lee Jones' Call in Lonesome Dove.
it seems to go in waves, really, working in the movies: sometimes you're riding high, other times you've swamped and are in the undertow just hoping to come up for air.
