Courfeyrac is sitting on the porch railing, with an arm wound around one of the supports, looking out toward the lake and the distant woods, a little wistfully.

And, there's a Pansy, looking bored, of course, because nothing seems to interest her for very long and no one really wants to talk to Pansy, anyway. She's heading back towards the Mansion after a long walk.

Courfeyrac smiles a little, focusing. "Afternoon, mam'selle."

She quirks an eyebrow. "Afternoon."

A quick, bright smile. "I shan't venture a judgment on it yet."

Mary has finally been permitted, with a great many conditions, to go back to the Mansion and her rooms there; and that is what she is doing, walking along the lawn towards the building in her pink day-dress, which was kindly laundered for her by somebody, probably Winky.

She looks healthy and well again after all the care taken. She looks like any nice Englishwoman in the world.

"Good afternoon," he says easily.

"Enjoying the weather?"

That Courfey, what a wit.

"Are you homesick, sir?" she asks quietly, coming to join him on the porch.

He looks over at her curiously, and then away again. "Oh, a bit."

She nods. "I understand." A short pause. "I'm Helen Rossi. I didn't know if you remembered - we met in the dark, last time."

"--Oh." Courfeyrac glances up again, studying her keenly. "Yes, of course. I remember." A little grin. "How good to see you at last."

*Morgan wanders out onto the porch and occupies herself with leaning against the railing, rather close to where Courfeyrac happens to be sitting* What are you remembering?

Courfeyrac looks up in startlement, and laughs a little. "Oh-- nothing very much."

*Morgan smiles. She likes startling people. It's one of those random childish traits of hers.* It must be something. You had that distant look people get when the past is briefly more important to them than the present.

"Friends of mine," he says, looking back at the lawn. "That's all."

*Madame de Tourvel is looking for a place to sit when she happens upon Courfeyrac on the porch. For a brief moment she is startled to see someone there, but she quickly recovers herself and asks, politely* I do hope I'm not intruding upon you?

He turns quickly, barely keeping his balance. "Oh! No, no, not at all. Public place," and flashes a smile.

*She starts forward in worry at seeing him nearly lose his balance* Oh, you must be careful, sitting in such a precarious position! I certainly wouldn't want you to fall on my account! *she smiles back, slightly tentatively* Even if it is a public place, I do think we ought to make our introductions before I cause you to fall again. *pause* I'm Madame de Tourvel.

"No, no, I'm perfectly safe." Cocky bastard. "Aimery Courfeyrac. Delighted to make your acquaintance, Madame."
