In relation to a completely unrelated convo you and I had recently, I have spent... MUCH of my time since I've watched Merlin, discussing how Merlin actually presents, IN-SHOW, a fantastic case study of female opression withint he patriarchy and DOES IT DELIBERATELY. Like, the final episodes of Merlin are... actually PAINFUL for me to watch because they just do such a fine job of portraying the effects of the patriatchy. VERY much not what I expected from this kind of show.
