Today marks the two thousand year anniversary of the first day of the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest. With the 2000th anniversary of the Battle of Teutoburg upon 09/09/09, I thought I would post an example of some words that could be spoken at blót or other festive honouring of this tide over the next three days. They are crude but will do for me since not everybody has the gift of glibness. I also find it a shame that the ancient tribal names remain in Latin which does them a disservice; unfortunately I’m yet to see decent translations if even such are possible. And indeed, Hál þá ærhæleþas!
