Well, things aren't going great at the moment. Seasonal shift, I think that's hard on me. Physically and mentally. Mentally I've been feeling strained, like I might be losing some of the ground I gained. I still don't have a job (freelance or part-time only, nothing crazy), and The Brit is settled in Buffalo so all that fun stuff has come to a halt ( Read more... )

maudlin me, you're deficient, anxiety, depression, what to expect when you're alive

Well, this makes it look like we should definitely do St. Ag on Wednesday, doesn't it? Although you are working really hard on, well, producing a major charity event speaking of the Accomplishments column.

I'm not and have never been a Christian but I do think that there's something magnificent about the concept that, merely by existing, every human being is entitled to be redeemed by Christ's sacrifice. As far as I'm concerned, the fact of someone living at all is a baseline of value. God created them! And God (mostly) knew what Ze was doing! Building from there on optional worth and value.

I do take points off for people who deliberately harm other people, which I don't think you have ever done.

I don't think I've ever deliberately harmed someone, although I have undermined them and myself with emotional flailing. I mostly try to help people.

I think we SHOULD do St Ag on Weds. It may help alleviate some of the freak-out of Catbaret, but not much. This thing is a massive beast of epic proportions. Remind me not to do it next year. Ha ha, from my lips to God's ears.

I used to be a devout Christian. And some of the stuff was absolutely helpful and centering. And obviously, some of it was extremely detrimental to general Life.

Yepper! I should come to your house bringing stuff, and we should go to the sale from there.

And mayhaps you will help me schlep books to Book Culture to see if I can't fund whatever I buy at St Ag.

Everybody's lives on Facebook look better than they are. They've actually done studies on how depressing that is to Facebook readers.
