What the thoughts about the new companion? About losing the old companions (which we knew)? About whatever, anything Doctor Who related
( Read more... )
Yes, she seems VERY young. And very much in the line of "young cute white girl," but thinkpink20 below says she's a quality actress in shows we haven't seen, so perhaps there's hope.
Uh, I know nothing on either of these topics except that is possibly the creepiest movie plot ever. Ick. But fascinating. But then more ew, ick . . . the giving birth part to him is a bit too much.
I've stopped keeping track of Doctor Who news after the last season (can't quite get over what they did with River), so I don't even know! There's a new companion? Is it a young white woman? I'm prepared to be SHOCKED.
There's a Womb fanvid (very spoilery for the movie) which made me think that, yes, I would be very interested in checking out this movie. Interested and kinda scared. Um.
I HAVE SEEN THAT FANVID. It is better than any trailer out there - oddly. I guess I'll have to watch the film and report back.
Yes, the new companion is a very, very young-looking, very cute, white girl. But there's supposed to be a twist, making her unlike any other companion. According to Moff. So she must be a dominatrix! Oh wait, sorry, that's Sherlock.
I would love to hear more on your thoughts re: River, although I imagine they are like mine - "wait, what? She's in love with him already? And that's her whole agency?"
Meh. Basically, I hated that they made River's whole life completely centered on and around the Doctor, from the moment she was conceived to her death. She was much cooler when we thought she was just a mysterious badass he fell in love with sometime in his future.
Please do report back! I'm curious about the movie - though not curious enough to seek it out without a rec from a person of good taste, my dear. <3
Yes, I think that really pissed a lot of people off. I was not best pleased, to be sure. But I did think her relationship with her "mum and dad" came out to be very amusing and sweet. I just didn't buy that she fell in love with him.
On the random film front, I do recommend Headhunters (Swedish) and Red Riding: 1974 (British).
Moffat has beaten and broken me so much that I'm just rolling with it. This new companion sounds promising, but he knows exactly what I want so I'm already anticipating that she actually is is OPPOSITE OF THAT. It sucks big time that we have to wait so long to see her in action. I really miss being emotionally engaged with this show. Sigh.
In terms of Womb, I haven't seen it either but absolutely must rec this gorgeous vid.

ALSO NOT OK WITH THE PART WHERE AMY AND RORY'S LEAVETAKING IS SUPPOSED TO BE HEARTBREAKING. NO NO NO! Stoooop with making goodbyes painful, you jerks!

I'm sure that's the vid I've seen, which is fabulous. I shall have to gird my loins so to speak, and watch the film one of these days.
