I've stopped keeping track of Doctor Who news after the last season (can't quite get over what they did with River), so I don't even know! There's a new companion? Is it a young white woman? I'm prepared to be SHOCKED.

There's a Womb fanvid (very spoilery for the movie) which made me think that, yes, I would be very interested in checking out this movie. Interested and kinda scared. Um.

I HAVE SEEN THAT FANVID. It is better than any trailer out there - oddly. I guess I'll have to watch the film and report back.

Yes, the new companion is a very, very young-looking, very cute, white girl. But there's supposed to be a twist, making her unlike any other companion. According to Moff. So she must be a dominatrix! Oh wait, sorry, that's Sherlock.

I would love to hear more on your thoughts re: River, although I imagine they are like mine - "wait, what? She's in love with him already? And that's her whole agency?"

Meh. Basically, I hated that they made River's whole life completely centered on and around the Doctor, from the moment she was conceived to her death. She was much cooler when we thought she was just a mysterious badass he fell in love with sometime in his future.

Please do report back! I'm curious about the movie - though not curious enough to seek it out without a rec from a person of good taste, my dear. <3

Yes, I think that really pissed a lot of people off. I was not best pleased, to be sure. But I did think her relationship with her "mum and dad" came out to be very amusing and sweet. I just didn't buy that she fell in love with him.

On the random film front, I do recommend Headhunters (Swedish) and Red Riding: 1974 (British).
