I read a lot of SF as a genre, and this was a really AWESOME example of it. The apocalypse-universe was so excrutiatingly well rendered, and Sam's torment there so complete. I think having coma-Dean was just a wicked touch, including some of the details about it, like that Dez could talk to coma-Dean better than Sam, which were heart-breaking. And the people who had become cannibals, and the Librarian. I loved the Librarian, and Sam feeding her a bit like a cat. So many great details painting a whole picture of a world.

I could have read more of Sam trying to fit back into the real world, because this bit seemed a little short (but was intense nonetheless). I really loved the conclusion. What a great piece of writing all round, I was totally enthralled.

Thank you!

Wow, that it high praise indeed. I am very grateful for that. I am new to SF as a genre, and I'm fascinated and fearful about jumping in, both as reader and writer ( ... )

Gah. The double whammy of them being separated and their counterparts dying hurts.

I did think about this a lot - it kept me sane while dealing with my day job! I love apocalyptic scenarios and the idea of a character coming out stronger on the other side. I almost gave up at certain points - thinking that I'd never work it all out, but I'm glad to hear it convinced you.

Thank you!

Wow. That was really painful and interesting. I love the way you worked the AUs and the YED.

I adore what a machine Sam became out of necessity and Dean's moping around his grave so that he saw the Shear open. The descriptions of the other folks lost in the alt universe were wonderfully horrible, too. Nice.

Thank you. I enjoyed writing this (in that angsty way) and I'm so glad you liked it. Thanks for feeding back, it is most appreciated!

AUGH! I cannot believe I forgot to comment after I read this!

This story was so ambitious and so dark... I loved it! You really built quite a horrific apocalyptic world, and I loved Sam's adjustments to it; he was bleak and tired but still so Sam. My favorite part might have been the crazy, cat-like librarian... for some reason, she made me think of Fred from Angel. :)

So, yes... thank you very much for this story, doll. It was angsty and painful and yet, you snuck in a happy ending! Well-done!

Eeeee! I didn't comment to your comment! I was... *flaily hands* on vacation! Yeah, I was!

I'm relieved and super glad you liked it. The Librarian is sort of borrowed from Fred, actually, and Desiree from Kendra the Slayer and Faith, I would think.

Thank you! We had fun, didn't we? ;)
