prepare to laugh at me, but did you ever read the da vinci code? if not, you might wanna grab that. it was a really fun read, very quick, light, broken up into bite-size chunks so you can read just a couple pages at a time if you want. it won't last you nearly as long as a harry potter book would, but grab a few other books as well and you're good to go. my preference for that sort of thing runs toward tom clancy, though, so adjust accordingly. oh! you'll like this. grab anything at all by christopher buckley. he wrote thank you for smoking, remember? well, all his books are that funny. so there you go.

no laughing, but i already read da vinci code. (it was meh, though i read it straight through out of sheer boredom.)

i'm thinking i'll read half-blood prince, too, since i'm pretty sure sam has it already, and the more i think about it the more i'm positive that it was flight of the phoenix (or whatever the hell it's called) last year.

christopher buckley is a good idea. yes. thank you. any specific recommendations, oh wise one? ;)

and i'm going to bring alison bechdel's memoir, and the kate hepburn bio my mom got me for xmas, and song of the lark which i'm rereading, and maybe a few more. i'm sure i won't end up reading all of them, since this isn't going to be quite the solitary vacation like last february in FL was, but at least i won't get bored. ;)
