Wow, this is really something I have to read. I don't think I can take a Queer history class before my college career is up and this seems like it'll help fill the void.

Yep. In my Politics of Recent America Class our professor showed us a '50s educational video for children about how to spot homosexuals, who supposedly would offer rides to kids from the park and try to seduce them in their cars, because they could not control their "predatory lust". Just absolutely fucked, I tell you.
I remember the first time I saw that video several years ago I was physically ill although my brother found it hilarious.
Also quite educational are the entertaining XY Factor specials on The History Channel. I first learned the connection between homosexuality/communism in McCarthy's America when I first studied cultural anthropology, but those specials brought it into greater clarity.
A GLBT studies class might indeed be fun to take (if not depressing as shit in several points).
