[Action // Locked to the Avengers House]

May 14, 2012 23:07

[Natasha once again, couldn't sleep, no matter how hard she tried. This time, she wasn't sure if it was just her, or insomnia, or waiting for the proverbial ball to drop, but this at at least her fourth or fifth night in a row. Natasha wore sleeplessness like she wore a familiar and favorite pair of shoes; very well. Half the time she didn't look ( Read more... )

[Pepper was not expecting it to be Natasha, or for there to be so much.]

...Morning, Natasha. What's the occasion?

I got bored. [She replies naturally, moving a piece of hair out of her face.] I was going to make breakfast for Steve and I and it just happened.

[Not to mention she's been up all night, but we won't say that.]

[Pepper is almost certain that this is the kind of cooking that happens when someone can't sleep (she's done it herself for the house) but she isn't sure if she is allowed to push any farther.]

I appreciate the accident. Have you eaten already?

[Pepper is 100% right. Natasha looks a bit tired, but it's not too bad. Also, when has that ever stopped Pepper before? PRY AWAY.]

Bits and pieces, here and there. I'll eat with you, if you want.

[action]

[Teddy knows the house is never short on food, Ms Potts always sees to that and he's actually grateful, none of the Young Avengers are really very good at maintaining supply levels. But he's never seen quite so much of their food spread out all at once before. And at this time in the morning, it's a little difficult to compute.]

I... er.... are there people coming over?

No, no one's coming over. Just thought everyone could use a nice breakfast.

It looks really nice, thank you Ms Romanoff. [He moves slightly to one side, finding a plate and a couple of pieces of toast. As he's spreading jelly on them, he realises something, and looks up at her]

This must have taken ages.

A couple of hours, nothing too bed. [She offers him a kind smile before saying the next part.] And you can call me Natasha, Teddy.

[No occasion. This is what happens when she's up all night and she's not on a mission. There's not much to do in Aliunde, and Natasha's been reading a bit lately. Those books might have been cookbooks, but if one is to fluidly slip into a role, one must know everything. SHIELD and her training just didn't cover cooking.

She's eating a grape when Loki comes in, her hair pulled back in a mess of curls on the back of her neck.] Morning.

So far, 'good' is debatable. [She finishes her grape, looking over the spread. Maybe she had gone a bit overboard.] I thought everyone could use a good breakfast.

[Thor eyes Natasha curiously and then looks over the amount of food she's made. Thor is used to large meals on Asgard but this is almost as large as the dinner they all had on Christmas Day, minus the enormous bird.]

Is there a reason for such a spread? [But he's at least getting some food for himself already.]

I can't make breakfast for everyone? [She responds back with a question herself, smiling. There's no reason, no occasion. No one's coming over and it's not a holiday. Natasha did it because she wanted to, for her friends. She was going to make breakfast for herself and Steve, why not be nice and make it for everyone?]

I had not thought you the type to. [Not because she's a fighter or anything like that, but because she hasn't seemed the type to worry so much about needing to do things like this.] It is a lot of food.

I'm normally not. [She admits, reaching to grab a grape.] I couldn't sleep.

[ A generous portion of the time, Steve is the first to awaken, to go downstairs, and make food for them both. Its something he enjoys doing, making breakfast for them both. But today, Natasha is up first, and Steve is sleeping in. When he finally wakes up, he feels guilty, at worst, and he's pulling on his robe as he hurries down the stairs to the kitchen, pausing in the doorway as he sees the enormous spread of food before him. He frowns a little, but he's not mad. ] You let me sleep in.

You looked so adorable. I didn't have the heart to wake you up. [She smiles, then goes to grab a plate for him before he can even think about it.]

Still.. [ He takes the plate from her, at the very least going to serve himself. ] I could have helped.
