Hsin Yeow's thoughts: Third's Time The Charm
When Leslie, the hapless groom-to-be, wanted to propose to the love of his life, he made the mistake of not going down on bended knee. Lynette's decision was swift and deadly: the ring was returned with nary a second thought.
Swallowing his pride, Leslie decided to try again. One Christmas, he asked Lynette to search his pocket for keys as he was intending to wash his car. After some digging, Lynette's fingers wrapped themselves around a familiar shape and she fished out the ring box. This time, he lowered his body into what seemed like a half-squat and said, "Let's get married."

Lyrical MomentsLynette was unmoved. "You didn't ask."
Leslie persevered, "Let's get married...OK?"
This time, Lynette could find no more reason to refuse.
After I got to spend a bit of time with them, I wondered why Lynette gave Leslie such a hard time in the first place. Leslie was obviously besotted with her, and even agreed to dance at the wedding because he knew it was Lynette's dream.
As I watched them dance, I could not help but be moved by their happiness. Congratulations, Lynette and Leslie!
P.S. The sound system at the Marriott was just excellent! I can't wait to perform there again!
Bevlyn's thoughts: The Way You Look Tonight
When Lynette finally came down to meet us during our soundcheck in her lovely black cocktail dress, she appeared jittery, because she had wanted to serenade Leslie with The Way You Look Tonight. She did a very quick run-through with the band, for it was supposed to be a surprise item for Leslie.
I had witnessed a bride from another wedding,
Angie, sing a song as a surprise for her hubby not too long ago, but what Lynette did was a little different - the song was the 2nd march-in song. Hence to Leslie's surprise, he found out he had to walk in himself to the music of the band and his wife's voice. He walked up to Lynette and took her in his arms as she continued to sing the song. Needless to say, many guests cheered and applauded, and some even shouted for encore when Lynette finished her rendition.

Lyrical MomentsThe next highlight of the night was a slow dance item which Lynette had expected - for her guests to dance. But Leslie suddenly stood up, took the microphone over and explained that he knew Lynette liked to dance. Like a perfect gentleman, he asked Lynette, "Shall we dance?". This time of course, he asked.
The sporting couple proceeded to the stage (instead of the dance floor due to popular demand) before breaking into a slow dance to the romantic tune of She.

Songs To Recommend:
I was looking forward to performing for Lynette and Leslie, because they chose so many beautiful songs. Where do I even begin?
I'm going to start with
Inseparable. Bevlyn said that Jasmine Trias'
rendition still gives her goosebumps. I have to agree. This song just makes me want to melt into a puddle of goo. It's that romantic.
Then we have
My One And Only Love and
Here There Everywhere (Video:
here). I wrote about these songs
here and
here. Gotta come up with another wish list soon!
What else? If you want a sensual and passionate song,
The Look Of Love (video:
here) will do the job nicely. If you prefer romantic ballads that speak of love that is simple and true, then look no further and pick
That's All (video:
here).

Hey,
You guys were great! Thank you for singing at our wedding! It really made the wedding different. Everyone loved you all...(did anyone approach you for autographs?) ;)
Apologies for being terrible hosts (honey water??...hahaha). We could have been better hosts...
Ahh....think I went off-key and missed a few beats (tsk, tsk). hahaha....but hey, let's call that my interpretation of the song. haha...and because we had to go change for the 2nd march-in, I missed a few of the songs you all sang...darn. Hopefully the video caught it. ;)
Still, thank you!! (again)... :-)
