Bevlyn's thoughts: What A Wonderful Gift
Koon Ming came across as someone who really loves live music and understands the magic difference between live music and CD music. He had wanted the band to serenade the guests during the cocktail session at the entrance of the ballroom, but alas, was forced to call off the idea due to technical difficulties.
However, we started singing inside the ballroom about 15 minutes before the 1st march-in to keep guests who arrived early entertained. It can also be a good idea to interest the guests into entering the ballroom earlier so dinner can start on time.
As predicted, the 1st march-in started at 8.30 p.m. sharp. But not before the showing of a videoclip specially done up by the groom himself. It was amazing because after the customary wedding ceremony in the morning, Koon Ming had to rush back to the hotel to put the clip together with his laptop. If he had not told me, I would have thought it a clip done by a professional. The video clip will definitely serve as a special gift to both of them for a long, long time since it was Koon Ming personalised work. As the emcee for the evening, my script was slightly amended by Koon Ming to better suit his preference, and one part of it went: "For those of Koon Ming's friends who are getting married, Koon Ming wants to convey the message that he can do their video clips at a special rate...", which drew loads of laughter. Koon Ming was obviously not afraid to show the humourous side of him on his wedding day!
With the song Lovers' Concerto, the flower kids marched in before Koon Ming and Josephine. The kids did a great job pacing the walk and throwing flowers petals at the same time!
All in all, we had a fun time performing, especially since we have built up a good rapport with the Hyatt's techical team! Kudos to them too!
