Dude, I am seriously counting the freaking days!
I'm uber giddy over this - possibly more so than usual because I didn't get to have the build up =of excitement to S&R cos it was suddenly, "Okay, it's available NOW!" weeks ahead of schedule. So this is really the first new ep that I'm having to wait for a certain date to see and can really get hyped up about - and that promo sure has given us reason to get hyped! :D
Is it me, or are us whumpers being just a teensy bit spoiled (in the good way, I mean) this season? I can't remember where I read it - it may have been on the GW episode info - but one of the director/producers types did say that S5 is the season of being in bed, or something to that effect...Oh, here we go - it was David Hewlett:
"I'm noticing a theme to Season Five, which is a lot of people strapped to beds. So there's a little teaser of Season Five. Season Five: A Season in Bed."
I'm going to join you in that SQUEEEEE!!!! I've watched the promo clip about 30 times now. I can't believe the amount of whump we are getting already this season. *sighs with contentment* Whump is such a lovely thing.
On the spoilers front, I haven't been as good as you. I won't be getting the eps on TV anytime soon (maybe 2 years from now, Space just showed S3.) I have been eating up every single spoiler I can get my hands on. I wish you good luck on your endeavour to stay spoiler free...ok 99.9% spoiler free. A girls gotta peak sometime. :D
This is entirely unrelated to anything (I didn't even read the cut, as I'm avoiding spoilers, even mild ones) but I am in desperate need of a book to read and I wondered if you had anything to suggest -- preferably not related to any particular fandom, as the library nearest me is slow on getting the more recent books and I have no access to bookstores at the moment. I just want something to read that is whumpy, plot-filled summer fun.
Random, I know. Unfortunately, I know very few readers, so I'm reaching out to the internet.
Ummm. Tough question, especially as I don't know who you are or what kind of books you like!
Whumpy and plot-filled? Umm.. Dick Francis. Most libraries should have some of his and the plots (are pretty good (they are crime/mystery novels usually connected in some way to horse racing) and the main character ALWAYS get whumped!
What else? Uh. D'you like Fantasy books? Mercedes Lackey's Last Herald Mage trilogy (Magic's Pawn, Magic's Promise and Magic's Price) are very good and are whumpy too.
Oh and any of Jim Butcher's The Dresden Files novels are a good read and whumpy to boot.

And i didn't even watch the promo!!
And hey, it's not even that spoilery really, cos it doesn't tell you the plot - how he got there etc. :D
(my excuse and i'm sticking by it! lol)
Roll on the weekend!!

I think that one itsy bitsy exciting bit of info is more joyful than knowing everything OR knowing nothing.
