To protect the crush

There is a female, who is a friend of mine(?) & my husband's. She seems to have a crush on him. To protect her, and save him the hassle of my overreaction, he deleted texts from and to her that weren't safe. What??! What kind of texts would those be? Why protect her? I don't understand much of what's going on, but I am trying hard to not go nuclear

Worried about losing a friend, not worried that my husband would pick her. Still not actually worried about that, though it does seem more questionable, now.
