T Minus 14 hours...

Aug 29, 2007 17:03

...As I run around like a chicken with its head cut off, I'm headed back to college... tomorrow! I start the (hopefully) twelve hour marathon drive tomorrow... probably at about 8am. Cause I seriously don't want to get up any earlier than that; I don't even want to get up that early. In a lazy mood, just want to have a lie-in ( Read more... )

I can't get it to download! *is frustrated*

It's bad (and shows exactly where my mind is) but when I think "Jack and the Beanstalk" and Jack Davenport, I think, "He can fee fo my fum anytime." LOL

Try using this link: https://webdisk.lclark.edu/rebeccab/Jack%20and%20the%20Beanstock.mp3?uniq=y9ayhw

It's just my webdisk, but sometimes those file-downloady site things don't work for me, either, and webdisk usually does. :)

My mind was so there while I listed to it in the car... twice. :P

Oh god, I can sympathize with the "chicken with its head cut off" feeling. So many boxes to pack, so little time. And 8 A.M.? Ugh, that's a terrible hour. The marathon drive doesn't sound like much fun, either. I hope it goes well.

I really should have gotten on the road at about 7am, like I usually do, but I knew I wasn't going to be able to make myself do that. I left about.. 7:45am-ish... We had really loud, really big thunder and lightning storms, and finally a bit of rain in the wee hours of the morning, which means: accidents. Ugh. It took me 45 mins to get onto the freeway- normally, it takes me... ten minutes, at most.

I kind of enjoy the drive, usually. It's a lot of time to think and to just... drive. The last three hours are the hardest, though. This year I was just tired of traveling and tired of packing and didn't care and didn't want to, which made everything less fun.

It sounds like a bit of a stressful drive, but at least you arrived safely. (Well, I'm assuming you did.) Mind you, I consider any driving stressful, so I'm not the best judge. And with all the traveling you've done this year, no wonder you're tired of it. Not to mention the fact that we've all been moving back and forth between college and home for several years now. I'm so ready to be done with all that.

I was fine with the back and forth to college until this year. I'm sort of done with that, too, now. I would have been okay with it, not great, but okay, had I not traveled so much previous to it. Cause I moved out of LC, was home for about a month, just turned 21, flew to Scotland, traveled extensively there, got to England (London, Berwick Upon Tweed), Ireland (Dublin), and then came back, unpacked so I could pack again, went to Vegas, went to the coast, moved back up here.

I packed badly, but I only forgot one thing, that I've figured out, so far- posters. D'oh! I'm doing the Pirate thing, so some of my posters were going to stay down... but I had several Jack Sparrow ones... Christmas, I guess.

It was totally hilarious! I listened to it twice (thought not in a row) on my drive up. There was very much a sense of Monty Python in his voice for Jack's mum. The story, too... I was somehow expecting the "normal" rendition of it... I think my favorite was the lines of "Jack just knew that she would have a beautiful name... "Gonzo." She whispered. "Dad named me after his favorite Muppet." Somehow Jack Davenport's voice saying "Muppet" made me giggle.
