At the airport (again)!

We're flying out to Boston very shortly, before driving on to Auburn, NH, which is near a town called Manchester. You lot don't half lack imagination when it comes to naming things sometimes. We have a new case, which looks fun ( Read more... )

I told him I was flying to the USA and hung up.

You have impressive skills in conflict resolution;.

It's not really a conflict, you know.

I'm improving! Rose says so! Plus I recently got through Jackie's birthday without getting in trouble. *Nods*

*sigh*

A simple "No thank you" would do, you know.

I'll tell them that! Eventually!

I was just sort of hoping that they might realise I am the sort of... free spirited person who flies to America at a moment's notice and I would not be a very reliable lecturer.

Or you could just tell them no and be done with it once and for all.

It'll sort itself out eventually!

ANYWAY, what sort of presents would you like from New Hampshire? :D

Maybe I should start ignoring my phone more often...

I know! Given the sort of... stuff they serve on those planes and call it food, this will be a welcome treat!

I'm impressed you answered at all. :D

Especially with no upgrades for us this time around.

I was distracted and didn't realise who was calling. I wouldn't have done otherwise.

Especially with no upgrades for us this time around.

We definitely need a plane of our own! I like to have space to move!

So you'll be right around the corner from me!!

You'll notice that a lot of the towns and cities around Boston have very familiar 'english' names :D

Honestly, you lot. You travel half way around the world, or even half way across the galaxy, exploring and mapping out land using the best technology you've got and then what do you do? Call it the same name as something back home! Half the time it's already got a perfectly legitimate name because someone else got there before you, anyway! Admittedly New Earth's original name was difficult to pronounce if you weren't, you know, a cat, but still!

Wellllll...

Technically it was the British that named most of New England. My thinking is that they were so homesick they duplicated everything.

Of course, we probably should've thought about renaming the cities and towns once we overthrew the government back in the 1700s but eh, I think we were too busy worrying about a Revolution than names of towns

hee :)

I was using "you lot" as in humans in general, you know. That includes at least most of the British, although I suppose technically I'm one of them too these days. It says so on my passport.

Marcasite is right: they've changed the weather predictions again (they're rubbish at weather forecasts in this part of the country, because the patterns change so quickly -- though NOAA does a pretty good job) and we're now supposed to get snow (anywhere from 6-12" on top of what we already have).

Granted, it's nothing like what the mid-Atlantic (Washington, DC, for instance) is getting -- and we know how to dig out of it unlike them. ::laughs:: I grew up in DC; they have no plows to speak of, and even a couple of inches of snow paralyzes the city. They have over 30" in places now!

All it means here is that it will be very, very pretty for you, and if you like to ski, the ski slopes up north of us will have fresh snow, and you can cross-country ski right out our back door. There are miles of trails around the lake here. (I have extra x-country skiis here, if you would like to try it out ( ... )

I think Rose is fixated on the idea of the cats, anyway. I've mostly accepted defeat by this point.
