Thinking about your detective business (and sad that you may not be able to do it any longer if you teach full-time -- but good on that job offer, you! I think you might really enjoy it -- just don't think of it using the word "job" and you'll do fine) ...
I have a conundrum.
Back about twenty years ago, when I bought this old farmhouse & barn, where I live in New England, I had some very odd occurrences happen. A washing machine that literally turned itself off (no, the wires weren't faulty & it wasn't off balance). A hanging light that could be turned off/on by a key on the side of the lamp (ugly, but it was part of the house when we moved in) but could also be turned off at the wall with a switch; almost every morning we found it had been turned off by the "key" even though both my husband and I know we turned it off by the wall switch (we not only compared notes, but wrote down a record of it after a while, it was so strange, to make sure we weren't both turning it off). You know the weird thing about all this - I always turn on comment tracking in the Doctor's posts. (You never know when he and Mum will get into it for whatever reason.) And while I got other people's comments here, I didn't get yours. You'd think that it'd just be lost emails, yeah? Well, my tracking had actually been switched off!
