I think we're the only ones left *wibble* ... all of my friends have been cracking, one by one ... and as yet I have managed to not hear one single spoiler. The copy online, sadly, seems to stem from a British bookshop. I now know several supermarket and bookshop employees who have got their grubby mits on the book. Apart from ruining the excitement, I also wouldn't want to read it online for fear of it looking like a fanfic ... and also for fear of ruining my eyes! Sorry for the long comment ... I'm feeling very lonely here in spoiler-free land!!

I almost cracked, but not quite.

The photographed copy I saw seemed to be an American copy; there are pictures in it, and two pages of chapter titles, which I don't think are in the English version? Not in the Australian books at any rate.

I agree with your last two sentences; plus I'm so disappointed this has happened, I expected spoilers, but nothing on this scale, and certainly not the extent to which it's been embraced.

Disappointment is certainly in my thoughts :(. I thought fandom would be more respectful. On a personal note, it's completely ruined the pre-release party we've planned for Sectus. Half the people there won't be excited since they'll already have read it, our theory and last minute predictions contest will be invalidated and I feel like throwing away the prizes rather than giving them to people who'd already read the book anyway ... it goes on. I'm feeling very sad and the temptation to read this online copy is all but gone now.

I'm in spoiler free land, but I dunt wanna be! I want to know where everyone is finding this mythical pdf! :-)

(Buying the book as close to midnight as I can, and reading it asap. It's a childfree weekend, so I am definitely going to be booking it!)

Heh. I'm not telling, but if you track down a spoiler community, you'll find it.

Word to the wise, though: Scholastic is clamping down HARD on these. I would hesitate to do it, lest they track my ISP.

I'm waiting as well. It seems a bit silly to me to not wait. It's only a few days. And it feels like it's the last Xmas forever, so I want to retain that moment as long as I can (plus live owls at the book store!)lol

Anyways I'll be in touch via email and I promise no talk of the book from me. :D

I heard that some stores have that! (Mostly, the Other Chain, whom I lovingly call Satan's Bookstore.) ;)

Still, I bet there won't be this many people up on midnight any other day than New Year's Eve!

Aye, we'll have owls at ours. (And I'll not take offense from someone who works for Lucifer's Bookstore. Six of one, half a dozen of the other.) ;)

Peace and love!

P.S. The birthday card was superb! Thank you!

We hates the spoiling bastards!

Ok maybe not hate, but close. Jason may actually harm someone if they ruin the end for him this time. It was ruined last time and he was crushed. Some people really suck.

I'm with you, babe. I get peoples' point of view that they're gonna buy it anyhow, but as I told Leanne, I'm dismayed that someone did this in the first place. I'm waiting. I am looking forward to opening the new book, just like I've always done, finding a queit corner, and losing myself.

I'm not mad at all at the people who read the book. I totally understand the temptation. I share it!

I'm irked by the person who put it online. That's such a blatant violation of what JKR wanted.
