For Alice's dress pattern, you could try Simplicity 2473, the sleeveless one. Ideally you want McCalls vintage pattern 8744, which is a Mod 1960s minidress pattern w/ 6 variations. There's a Simplicity version, which was at one time numbered 5092 that is basically the same dress, with pockets, but NOT princess-seamed, which really effects the drape. McCalls M5799 is also darted, not p-seamed.
If you're at all good at altering patterns, Butterick Costume B4827 is an almost perfect princess seamed gown. Leave off the sleeves, shorten the hem to just above the knees, replace lacing in the back w/ a zipper.
Actually, McCalls M8107 is darned good.. hm...you'd have to narrow the pieces on the hem, so there's less drape...
