Yikes, NaNo is right around the corner. Right now I'm at that precarious place where I'm starting to get excited but I know that the minute the clock strikes midnight on Oct. 31st I'm going to be all "OH GOD NO." Buuut I'll just savor this for the moment. Mmm. Yes ( Read more... )

THIS SOUNDS KICKASS. Dude, put me on a waiting list for this! XD I have to know, though, what are the worlds like? Like, one normal everyman one, and one fantasy one, or two normal ones, etc? This sounds WAY cool, though; especially since it's so red/blue pill. How does he get to pick only one, though? Does he take an medicine for narcolepsy in whichever world he wants to stay in? I MUST KNOW.

And, arrrghh, Nanowrimo. I'm going to be doing the same idea I did last year, because the idea has gone through two plot surgeries, two characters got cut, and a new character was brought in. I'm such an idiot, though: I made most of the characters with only the barest idea of plot in mind, so now I don't know how to make the plot flow/how all the caharacters meet/etc. I know how the first two chapters go, but then I'm stuck. D'OH!

Thank you!

Both of his lives are totally normal; he's got a job, a home, and friends in each one. That said, his job, etc. aren't the same from one life to the other, and there are a few things he's got in one life-- good money, a girlfriend, a therapist-- that he doesn't have in the other. There are some definite good and bad elements in both of his lives, and that's one of the reasons he's been hesitant to lose one.

His quest is to determine which world is real and then to get rid of the fake one. I'm still working the wrinkles out of how he'll figure out which is which and how he'll permanently latch onto the real one. It actually started coming together rather nicely earlier today, but I refuse to give away any spoilers! XD

Plot surgeries; they can be so helpful, but sooo frustrating! Stick with it, and I'm sure you'll work out those details! Do you like to get everything figured out ahead of time, or do you prefer to make it up as you go?

I now encourage you to post snippets- I really, really want to read it now! XD

*Do you like to get everything figured out ahead of time, or do you prefer to make it up as you go?*

More or less making it up as I go, but that's only for thinking up the plot. I won't start writing until I'm positive about the entire plot, so if I try to write something without doing that (like with my book) I end up deleting everything.
