It's that time of year again

Yikes, NaNo is right around the corner. Right now I'm at that precarious place where I'm starting to get excited but I know that the minute the clock strikes midnight on Oct. 31st I'm going to be all "OH GOD NO." Buuut I'll just savor this for the moment. Mmm. Yes.

Yeah, so anyway.

I finally got the concise version of my plot summary finished today, and I'm going to bite the bullet and show it to you guys before I get the chance to change my mind. My working title right now is The Flip Side, but I'm hoping to eventually come up with a title that isn't quite so... lame.

Scott Campbell seems to lead an ordinary life. But he doesn’t. It’s not so much the fact that Scott is narcoleptic; there's something much bigger at play. Scott’s life isn’t ordinary because he has two of them.

For the past fifteen years Scott has simultaneously lived two entirely separate lives. Having a narcoleptic fit causes him to switch between worlds; falling asleep in one life means waking up in the other. But of course, only one of these lives is real. The problem is, Scott can’t tell which is the dream and which is reality.

Now, juggling two lives has become too complicated. It’s time for Scott to figure out which life is real and which is just an illusion. But forsaking one of his lives means losing something that’s important to him, and to untangle the truth he’ll have to follow a trail being laid by someone who is hardly trustworthy and all too mysterious. Following the trail is dangerous, but unfortunately for Scott, straying from it is even worse.

Oooh, mysterious/dramatic/overly complicated, no? And I have this weird obsession with narcolepsy. I blame it on the book Improbable. Which does not, in fact, have anything to do with narcolepsy.

I, um. Don't have an ending yet. At all. This could problematic.

At this point I'm considering posting up some snippets of my novel as I'm writing it. What I need to know from you guys is if you'd be interested in reading those snippets or not. Don't feel like you have to say yes; if it doesn't suit your fancy, just don't comment on this entry. I won't be offended or anything; I really just need to know if I should be on the lookout for anything remotely readable next month. Also, if I do indeed to post any part of my novel it will be behind a f-lock. If you're not on my f-list and you'd like access to those posts, just drop me a line.

And now it's time for leftover birthday cake and Avatar Abridged!!
