I love this show

Oh my God, guys, how awesome was Bones tonight?

I knew from the start it would be a good episode because 1. Parker jumping out from behind Booth. Ahaha, it was so cute. I honestly think Parker can sometimes be a tad annoying, but I love how he allows us to see such a different side of the other characters. And then 2. Brennan and Cam looking at the body and mentioning that they'll have Hodgins look at the particulates or whatever. Which meant this episode would semi-prominently feature HODGINS! Yayyy!

And then how sweet was it when Angela and Parker were hanging out together? I don't know; I just really like the two of them hanging out. Because you know that Angela is totally going to corrupt him as he grows up. More so than she probably already has.

Parker: Do you have a boyfriend?
Angela: No... YES HIS NAME IS HODGINS.
Parker: Could dad sex you up?
Angela: Don't think I haven't considered that, but I'm sort of on the sidelines for now. NO BECAUSE BOOTH/BRENNAN IS MY OTP.

YOU KNOW IT'S TRUE.

And then Booth getting all annoyed at her for talking to Parker about sex and meanwhile Parker's playing some shoot-em-up game and Booth is being protective!Booth and hahahaaa he's so funny. He's such a great dad, which I love, but he's so conservative and easily freaked out. Booooth. He's so funny.

Brennan vs. Sweets was hilarious. I don't like Sweets all that much, but I get frustrated when everyone's all "blah blah psychology sucks blah blah blah" and everyone's always so mean to him and... Anyway. Their little battle to get Booth's attention was really funny. And Booth so didn't care. I would love for an entire episode to just be Sweets and Brennan trying to convince Booth that psychology/anthropology is the way to go. I'd watch that. Sweets jumping up and down, waving his hands in the air; you know it’d be good.

Cam: Tox screen came back positive for potassium nitrate, which can be prescribed for high blood pressure, but Kurt Bessette was in very good shape.
Brennan: Yes, we heard that from his teenage girlfriend.
Booth: Enough to kill the guy?
Cam: Nope. He might have experienced some muscle weakness, but otherwise saltpeter’s fairly harmless.
Booth: Saltpeter is not harmless, okay, I went to Catholic school.
Cam: That’s a total myth, Booth.
Brennan: No, Booth did actually go to a Catholic school.

GUYS, IT WAS SO FUNNY. I LAUGHED. THIS EPISODE MADE ME LAUGH APPROXIMATELY 48 TIMES. THAT'S GOING ON MY FAVORITE QUOTES LIST.

Brennan: Why does this matter? We already have the people responsible.
Sweets: 'Cause it's knowledge, Dr. Brennan. It's insight into humans, it's why I do what I do.
Booth: That's a good answer, Bones.
Brennan: It was a good answer.

KJNEGLGL I LOVE THIS SHOW.

And guys guys guys, Booth, Brennan, and Parker hanging out so that Parker will see that Booth has a "fulfilling life?" Even though his life "isn't fulfilling?" I want to seeee this. We're... so not going to see this. It's going to be ~in between the episodes~ What nonsense. But ahaha when Booth and Brennan were hiding behind their drinks so Parker wouldn't be able to hear what they were saying? My smile, it was huuuuge!

Brennan: Hey, are you having fun?
Parker: Milkshakes are fun, and I'm having a milkshake, so yeah, I'm having fun.

HIS LOGIC IS SOUND. SOUND AND HILARIOUS. MILKSHAKES ARE FUN.

And now for two serious points??? I'll start with the negative one.

How. Incredibly. Disappointing. Was their depiction of the "Neighborhood Gay Couple?" They're gay, so obviously they must have high pitched voices, wear brightly colored clothes, and stare at the good-looking yard boy. No, seriously, what was up with that? I would be inclined to think they were making fun of the stereotype, except... I don't think they were. I think it was supposed to be funny and "Oh gosh, would you look at those gays!!" But it was just in really bad taste. Lame, guys. Laaaame.

On a different note, something I was really impressed with and excited about was how they handled Arastoo. I really didn't like him previously; he acted like he was stupid, people treated him like he was stupid, and he was the token religious character that was around so that the other characters could make fun of religion. And really, I don't have a problem with shows/characters making fun of religion, but a) I wished they'd chosen a different religion to make fun of, seeing as Islam doesn't have the biggest fanbase right now, and b) That was the only thing the character had going for him. All the interns had shticks, and Arastoo was The Religious One. Because, you know, religious people don't have anything else going on in their lives. Especially not if they're Muslim. (Um, /sarcasm, in case it wasn't clear.)

And then they pulled this turn around, and like I said, I was very impressed, both with the turn itself and with the way they handled it. I really love the idea of a character who is religious, a firm believer in science, and a "normal" person all in one. And it's especially cool that they did this was a Muslim character, since again, Islam has a really bad name right now, and this is a good chance to be all, "Um, hey, Muslims aren't crazy by virtue of being Muslim, just so you know." I liked hearing Arastoo's reasoning for using the fake accent and persona; it draws attention to the issue and also kind of makes a jab at the anti-religious nature of most of the other characters. And I'm not saying the other characters need to suddenly discover God or anything-- I'd be really upset if they did; it's just that it's nice to get the other side once in a while. Organized religion has a suuuuper bad name right now, and while there are definitely reasons for that, the world cannot forget that not all religious people are stupid/crazy/evil. Some of us are just as awesome, science-minded, and "normal" as non-religious people.

So, um, way to go, Mr. Vaziri. Be seeing you... when your rotation comes around again? I don't know. This whole intern thing doesn't really make sense at the moment. Why are they still rotating if they picked Wendell?

BUT BACK TO CAPSLOCK:

IN CONCLUSION, PARKER IS A BOOTH/ANGELA, BOOTH/CAM, AND BOOTH/BRENNAN SHIPPER.

I LOVE THIS SHOW.

religion, bones
