We tried really hard to make it perfect, and as you can see, we failed.

The following are a few things I'm getting sick of seeing in every book/TV show/movie/etc. It could be a drinking game! Take a drink every time you see ( Read more... )

It's great that you have such a great relationship with your family, especially your brothers. I'm a tad jealous, but more happy for you than anything.

If you've yet to read it The Demon's Lexicon by Sarah Rees Brennan relies pretty heavily on sibling relationships. There's both two intensely codependent brothers and a healthier brother+sister duo. The series is also rather similar to Supernatural in some ways (though the author throws a hissyfit on Twitter whenever someone brings it up). Issues with the author's personality aside, it is quite well-done and enjoyable, though the trilogy isn't finished yet.

I know you said you're not that much into sister+sister stuff, but if you like animated films at all, Miyazaki's My Neighbor Totoro has some cute and light-hearted moments with two adorable sisters. It's only about 1 1/2 to 2 hours long, so it's not much, but the siblings are super-adorable.

I've only seen the first season, and the focus seems more secondary than anything, but the show Dexter has some both cute and profound ( ... )

Thank you! We weren't always so close; B1 and I fought a lot when we were younger, and my brothers didn't always get along, but we all just click now. I'm sorry to make you jealous, though. :-(

Thaaaank you for all of these recs! I'm putting The Demon's Lexicon on my To Read list right away and I'll definitely check out Ice. I think I'll have to wait to watch Dexter until I have fewer other shows on my plate, but I've heard nothing but great things about it, so! And yessss Totoro! That movie was, like, my whole childhood. Satsuki and Mei are so cute.

Also: YOUR LOVE. I LOVE IT.

Heh heh, I'm an only child but I love, love, love sibling dynamics. I mean, I have 10 half-siblings, but the youngest of that bunch is almost 40 years old to my 18 years old. I never connected with them+they hate me for being the youngest, and having had my dad be there for me all my life. Still, I love seeing siblings, because that kind of connection is amazing.

(And dude, PJO, has like... 900 siblings. The cabins and like, Tyson and Percy. ;P)

As for recs, Fullmetal Alchemist has two brothers as the main characters. There are two animes, and the manga so take your pick! XD' It's a great series in all formats, and the brothers are the heart of the show. Suite Scarlett by Maureen Johnson has a strong focus on family relations. The brother/sister dynamics are great, and there are a couple of sister/sister relationships. Maureen also wrote The Key to the Golden Firebird, which is about three sisters. /ignores the not sister/sister thing >>'' Someone mentioned The Demon's Lexicon, which I'm actually trying to get a hold of. From the ( ... )

Aren't sibling dynamics the best? I just love them so much. Gah.

(Haha, I knowww, everyone is siblings with everyone in PJO! But most of the time it doesn't feel like that big a part of the story to me. I thought there were some sweet moments between Percy and Tyson, but a lot of the time I felt like the relationship was just played for laughs.)

Wow, thanks for all these recs! I haven't read/watched any of these yet, so I've got a lot to look forward to!
