I'm annoyed that the Others were renamed into White Walkers in the series. I know it's one of their names in the books, but it wasn't used as often. ;)

I totally agree about Jon. He's definitely not how I pictured the guy. I also think Sean Bean is miscast as Ned.

Oh, I haven't picked up on this yet. Because I have only seen 1 ep I thought they will be called The Others at some point. hmm. Why would they do such a thing as re-naming them?

** complains some more ** Even if the guy loses some weight, he still has those thick lips and sullen face. ** sigh **

Sean Bean is who George R.R. Martin always pictured playing Eddard Stark. I can't see how he could be miscast.

Really?!?! But he's so... blonde. :P I always pictured Ned with black hair like Jon's.

I'm sorry you didn't like it.

The nudity didn't bother me. I thought Tyrion with the whore was needed for his character development. However, I did not GET the part where his brother Jaimie brought three more women into the room. I thought that was over the top and unnecessary. Does Jaimie always supply Tyrion with whores?

- Daenerys is getting married: more naked ladies.

That is in the books.

The scene between Jaime and Cersei came straight from the books and was the reason Bran got pushed out of the window, so I would say that was a very necessary scene.

I do think there needs to be equal naked men to naked women though. :)

lol. Well, I don't either. I would think bringing him more whores would guarantee that he didn't make it to the feast. He could be there for hours. :)

Take me right, I didn't dislike it. I am pretty neutral still: there are good things, there are less good things, it all can even out at the end.

Usually I have really HIGH tolerance of nudity, grime and gore. But I was just upset that we had a big scene with a nameless whore's genitals and missed important scenes like wolf naming. It is all about what was inclluded and what was not. And the fact that they added the naked Dany scene (just to show off the curves of the actress) has sealed the feeling of "do not want" for me.

So , by the time I got to jaime and cersei I was not objective, not at all.

More naked men - yes please. :D You made me totally happy with this comment. :D

I was the same - take me right, I didn't hate it. As I said, it can go either way for me. When the pacing evens out, when I get used to the odd sound and also when I get used to the actors, it might all go splendidly well yet!

The execution of the Lady-the-wolf made almost as sad as the human deths'. ** sigh ** I am so not looking forward to this.

I'm waiting until there are more episodes available before I finish this one - there were an awful lot of characters to keep track of for a first episode and I think it would be a lot easier to do so if I weren't waiting a week between episodes. There was a lot of grime, but I assumed that came from the books (I've never read them). And HBO just loves nudity. I think it's how they show they're different from other regular cable; I hope the sex scenes in this are better lit than Rome, because that show had the unsexiest sex scenes ever.)

(As someone who has never read the books and doesn't know much about them beyond that Jamie is apparently awesomely interesting, but evil, I think they could have done a better job for those who came to the show cold.)

** nods ** I decided to do the same. I will be able to enjoy this more if/when I marathon. I always do.

I like the grime, the grime is my friend. But I don't like that they made Sean bean look 20 years older. this is a crime against humanity!

brr. I am sorry to disappoint, but I think that "the unsexiest sex scenes ever" applied to the GoT sex scenes too. There was a semi-rape to finish the first episode too (which scene is a lot softer in the book, I assure you).

Jaime's actions seemed to be much more evil on-screen. ** sigh **

I agree that Drogo and Dany's wedding night always being a semi-rape. But I think after showing this quite so explicitly, it will be quite hard for the show to get to the point where she starts loving him. It is easier to express the gradual change by the meanings of the book. but I might be all wrong. Drogo is a gorgeous man, after all.

I think they made Jaime's actions "more" evil in the show. It was shown as a pre-meditated thing in the show, but in the book it happened too fast to call it 100% pre-meditated.

This is true - I definitely think that it is not helping me that these are the books I know and like really well. Sometimes miracles happen and a show based on a book I love immediately clicks with me, but this is a rare event. I can only think of the Russian adaptation of Idiot and the latest LOTR as two examples of "wow! I love this".

But I hope it will work for the new fans (I have seen many good reviews from people that haven't read the books)

Pardon me for a non-post-related comment, I just wanted to pop in and say hi and that I hope you're doing well and I've been perusing your last few entries so if I may say:

1. I really, REALLY wish the U.S. would get its act together so I could go back to watching Bleach. There is still an issue with ownership over a whole entire block of episodes right in the middle of where I was. Argh. I miss it!

2. Black Butler is now available for rent through Netflix, so I'm going to watch! Didn't you rec this once?

3. I really want to find a drama to watch again. Anything non-rom-com that catches your eye, let me know. :)

woo-hoo! I am so glad to hear from you!

** fingers crossed for Bleach ** I think the creator said that he is going to keep writing it for another 10 years. :D I might have to stop before that. The current arc I am watching (arrancar downfall) is brilliant, but I fater that I might stop.

I liked Black butler. The second series are much more slashy, but I like the first series more.

The last rom-com I liked was "Marry me Mary" (an off-beat comedy with Jang Geun Suk). But eveyone and their mother LOVED "My girlfriend is a gumiho" (I haven't wahtched this one yet, but it received universal love and critial approval).

I'm looking forward to BB. I don't care if there is slash in my anime, I read enough of it on my own. XD

I said NON-rom-com, lady! But thanks. =) Oh, I could go for a murder mystery right now. Have you watched many Japanese dramas lately?

Me too. :D

Oh, my apologies for my mistake! It has been a while since I loved anything serious, since Chuno. I don't rememebr if you have seen Chuno? (I will push it to everyone until the end of my days :D)

Currently, I like Kdrama "Midas" (if you like empire/revenge type of stories).

For Jdrama, I liked Gaiji Keisatsu (it about secret police, quite dark ).

I am also quite liking Jdrama Control (which is about a psychology professor solving crimes).
