- I forgotten how much I love everything to do with The Others. This has always been one single thing I would have wanted to change about the books: I wish there was more of the fantasy elements (The Others, dragons, etc) and less of some characters that I don't find interesting.
- EVERYONE looks older than I imagined them to be. Ned looks 60 which is not the real age of Sean Ben, and so does Catelyn . Sansa (11) looks 19 and Arya looks 14. Bran is 10 for some reason (7 in the book) . I am sure everyone has already discussed this but for me this is new. I don't mind the kids looking older (considering what they are going to go through), but the adults looking so old and haggard? I don't like it.
- Robb is hot-ish
- Jon is chubby and (for me) so not hot. This is my least favourite casting of the series.
- Something is off with the sound. Everyone speaks in an odd way. They all seem to be reciting or something like this.
- Nikolaj Coster-Waldau delivers his lines perfectly.
- Cersei looks old enough to be Jaime's mother. Or aunt. What have they done to lovely Lena Headey???? But then again, she wears a wig.
- I like the Hound's helmet
- The young actors that play Arya, Bran and Sansa are wonderful
- OMPH! King Robert is so old! And ugly!
- Unnecessary to the story naked lady has just appeared. Calm down HBO, calm down.
- More naked ladies appeared.
- Targaryens: I have decided that I most definitely don't like wigs.
- Daenerys is also naked, for at least 2.5 minutes.
- Khal Drogo , minus the faux beard and the eyeliner , is probably the most attractive guy in this episode.
- Daenerys is getting married: more naked ladies.
- Daenerys is very pretty but a tad matronly for her 15.
- Jaime and Cersei: another unnecessary sex scene.
PS: I think I am going to wait until the season is over and marathon it. I am not feeling anything for the show yet, it might go either way for me. There are few things that I can definitely do without, like unnecessary sex scenes or the way everyone looks so old and ugly, even Sean Bean. The creators went for " dirty and realistic" approach and in my opinion overdone it. I have heard this adaptation was expensive, but so far I am not noticing where the money have gone: everything looks like theatrical decorations and the sound is decidedly odd.
** sigh ** I should stop talking. It is not as if I disliked everything, but I am not feeling "big love", not at all.
