Midas writing and pictures of No Min Woo

Mar 25, 2011 13:12

I am so obsessed with "Midas" that I have been doing nothing this morning but intensely researching the drama's cast and creators. It appears that the writer, Choi Wan Kui, is the guy that wrote scripts for many good dramas: "IRIS", "The Kingdom of the Wind", "Lobbyist", "Jumong" ,"All in", etc. etc. I think I know now why the drama appealed to me ( Read more... )

LDJALSKDJLASKDHASD NO MIN WOO IS AWESOME IN RRR, OMG! GO WATCH IT RIGHT AWAY! Am-addiction has it (it's hidden in one of the drama special threads. I'll PM the link as soon as I find it) and WITHS2 released the subs. \o/

Ooooh and piccies, yay! *stares*

Re: Swallow the sun is on my to-watch list. ^^ Maybe we could watch it together someday? Btw, I've read mixed reviews about it.

You're welcome! Just spreading the NMW love. I honestly didn't think he had THAT in him. I mean, in Pasta and MGIAG was wooden at best though if you squinted you could see his potential, but in RRR? alsdkjsjlkdhfdlkfghdl alkdhalsdhsld!

Wow, that soon? I'll see what I can do.

I like him in Midas, but he was very aloof in pasta (which was his role, I suppose). I think he is getting more popular with Midas (I have seen some Korean-only pages just about his character), so hopefully he'll get more leading roles.

RRR was AWESOME and sent me in a major Boohwal binge. I think I listened to their Retrospect2 album on a loop foor weeks, ha. I love every single song in it.

NMW was electrifying in RRR btw. XD

I haven't watched Swallow the Sun but I've heard it went all over the place in the end stretch.

NMW gets to play his guitar and sing in Midas too, he is this son of a rich family who wants to be a musician but at the end agrees with his sister and becomes a manager of a shopping place.

I have heard some good things and some bad things about "Swallow the Sun". I vaguely remember that dangermousie liked it.

No Min Woo was also quite hot in My Girlfriend is a Gumiho. It's my favorite drama, so I highly recommend it! ^^

I might marathon this as well, I have heard many good things about it and I LOVE Hong sisters comedies.

It's one of their strongest comedies/dramas imho. What really adds complexity and layers to this romcom that their other dramas might lack is the mystical aspect of the Gumiho myth that is so perfectly woven into the story.
I have to warn you though, the hero is super pathetic and weak in the beginning. But of course his transformation is very good and believable and he comes out as one of the bravest and most likable k-drama heroes I've have had the chance to see on screen. The heroine is quite awesome as well - she's powerful physically and magically but naive and innocent about the human world. But she's also honest, open, loving, caring in so many magnificent ways. Basically my favorite drama heroine :)

The rest of the characters are pretty standard romcom bunch (except No Min Woo's character I suppose. It's an interesting role, and gets a good resolution in the end!). It's not one of the greatest drama ever made, but it's one of the greatest romance stories ever told. Again, just my subjective opinion!

** nids ** Hong sisters always do that - on the surface some of their dramas are "just comedies" but they usually go deeper than that. i really liked the tragic Gumiho drama we had last year - Gumiho's revenge. I missed "My girlfriend is Gumiho" because I was busy.

Decided - I am going to catch up on this.

Boy is gorgeous. It's kinda too bad I didn't get to know him when he was in TRAX.

I'll probably hunt down his and Lee Min-jung's story in "Midas." Thanks to you. ;)

Hehe! The plot sickens in Midas at the moment. Myung Joon/ Jung Yeon might end up as my favourite ever non-canon OTP.

HOLY MOTHER OF GUH!!! *____* That's one of the hottest thing I've ever seen in my life. I've never considered drummers hot, but wow, I've GOT to rethink this because wow. Just wow. It's possible it's only a NMW thing rather than a drummer thing, but...wow. YOU FRIED MY BRAIN WITH THIS VID, OKAY? I just...alkdjaldjlasd.

BTW, his lack of shirt is seriously distracting, but...hahah, who cares? *rewatches*

PS: is there a high quality version of this video somewhere? I've got to have it. This one hurts my soul. Heh
