So college orientation was total shit. Really. The advising and scheduling parts went really well and I was very pleased. It's just that the rest of it was a total waste of my time. And the whole still in pain thing didn't help, but what the hell, it's OVER ( Read more... )

I was never able to really get through the Series of Unfortunate Events books. I read the first four or five. Maybe I'll try again.
I did just go out and buy the complete works of Lewis Carroll though. Another genius.

BTW, I'm pricing laptops right now, anything you can tell me about Macs? If you know any place where I can get a good one that's used, or something like that. So far, my mom and I have "built" a dell, and it's running around $1500, so I thought I might ask.

I am a walking billboard for Apple, so I'm sort of biased. Though we totally paid $1,270 for mine. If you'd like to look into used ones, there's a specialty Mac place in Louisville called MacAuthority. (502) 259-5490 at 128 Breckenridge Lane 40207 ...what? I have a business card for them RIGHT on my desk, ok? :P They just changed owners, but they definitely used to sell refurbished used ones! They are the people who just fixed up Todd.

OKAY, I just looked at their website http://www.macauthority.com and the homepage talks about their $329 refurbished iBook G4s, which the store was COVERED in while I was there yesterday. They are great machines, I worked with several this school year. That could be a really great deal for you, Beth. You should talk to them.

Never heard of them in my life. Like, at all.

Call the Mac people. $329 for that kind of computer is awesome. And if the software is old, you can come over and use my install disks for the new stuff.

I don't have an iPod....or any Apple software in my house....WHAT NOW???

Anyway, glad Todd's back. Your separation anxiety was hard to take.

Orientation would've killed me. Or I'd have killed it. I'm voting for the latter, but you can judge how much of that is my macho ego clouding my perception of reality....
