You can take your "arguments" about "socialism/communism can work, we just haven't done it right yet" and apply them to capitalism with equal validity.
All three tend to fail because people with an advantage tend to do there best to *increase* that advantage and eventually things get really bad.
Human nature is to "game the system". So *whatever* economic system you come up with, people will be looking at the rules from a "how can I do what I want" instead of the "how can I make this work best for everybody".
And that's idealists like you fall down.
BTW the same thing goes for legal systems.
Until humanity becomes "hyper-rational" AS A SPECIES we are going to keep failing at the Prisoner's Dilemma. And our economic and legal problems are just the Prisoner's Dilemma writ large.

No you can't. We've had, what? Like, half a dozen examples of communism so far? Compared to hundreds of examples of capitalism. So you are Wrong.
Communism, done right, would give almost no reason to "game" the system, as you put it. And even if they did still do it, the damage from such would be minimal.
Furthermore, I'm kind of annoyed that people keep thinking I want to hear arguments against communism. I've heard every argument there is, nothing is going to change my mind, because all the arguments are either irrelevant or utter bullshit. I just want to rant on my blog without people arguing with me. If I have to turn off comments to do that, I might end up doing so. But I leave them open in case anyone has something positive to contribute. If I wanted people to argue with me, I would be posting in a community for that purpose.
I wasn't criticizing communism. I was pointing out that you were not using the same logic, the same standards with regards to the workability of communism/socialism and capitalism.
