I used to work with a girl whose parents were Chinese, and for some reason people would come up to her and start speaking Spanish. She told me that people often just assume she's Hispanic. I've always wondered why some people can't distinguish between the two ethnicities.

People can be so odd.

People ALWAYS ask me how old I am when I talk about how I graduated from college before.. when I say 23 I get these astounded looks and they swear they thought I was 18, hah.

I'm the same way, I'm 27 and people are so surprised when they find out. People say I look 18.

The biggest reason I think is a don't drink or smoke, because I do look slightly younger than most people my age, but I think also, younger people have this misconception that once you hit 22-23 you're "old", when in fact, in your twenties is still young, so of course someone isn't suddenly going to look "old" when they're still only 27. It's only in these kids minds that 27 is "ancient".
