I was listening to a couple of the jwz mixtapes over the last week or so, and it's occurred to me that 2009 sounds a lot like 1989 so far. Lots of bands that could've come out of the Dunedin scene.

Yup. The 80s are far enough in the past to be cool again, just as the 90s are now lame and cheesy. In ten years I'll be shaking my head at all the tweenies thinking they're so hip with their Nirvana t-shirts and Korn badges. OH GOD THE HORROR.
