I'm sorry to hear that you lost your assistant. At least you have someone to replace her. That's often the hardest part and that is a great tribute to you, being invited to dinner.

If you were to become a teacher, what would you teach? Does teaching pay better there than here? We joke about teachers getting jobs at McDonald's during the summer so they can earn some serious money.

Sorry about the cold - what are we talking about here? We are getting down to 8 C here in the morning. that's cold enough for me.

Fortunately, Deb let me know with a lot of time that she was leaving and we got to find another trainee that was motivated and with good attitude to learn, so I'm quite happy ( ... )

it's good that she let you know ahead of time. not all employees are as considerate.

Here you pretty much need a Masters to teach anywhere from Kindergarten to University level. I have friends who are teachers and they don't make much money at all when you consider how much extra time is involved with lesson planning, seminars, continuing education and so on.

We often do the same thing here. this has been out first cool week all year. We are quite enjoying it. - only going to get to 15 C today! Yay!

Wow, so teachers are also required to be very prepared for every level... that is very good.. but yeah, as you say... it is a LOT of work! I see it everyday with my mom =P

Sorry your week is dragging along!

I found out I wanted to be a teacher late, but I finally feel like I have found someplace where I fit and am happy. It's not easy figuring out life!

Yeah, I feel like being a teacher these days may be more challenging than it was before (when I was a student) but either way, I think is a very very nice career to teach the next generations =)

I hope I can achieve all those goals that go before teaching ahhaha =P

I hope your assistant will have an amazing time, and props to you for being a good boss. Those are so rare now a days!

Here, I'm all cash. I don't have any cards. When I go to America, I feel more nervous using cards than cash, actually.
