Fortunately, Deb let me know with a lot of time that she was leaving and we got to find another trainee that was motivated and with good attitude to learn, so I'm quite happy ! =)
I think I'd like to be a university teacher and teach my subject (accounting, management, etc).. but it's a long way to go, to teach at a university (even high school, because here both go one with the other) one is needed to have a bachelor degree AND a masters degree...
Regarding salaries, I think it depends on the level you're teaching because I know people that teach at public schools and the don't do well at all and those teaching at private schools (which are LOTS of 'em) get paid better because parents pay more for the school..
I heard once, from a girl I know that sometimes the teacher union doesn't pay teachers for months and still they have to go to work... I think it is very unfair to them... but I don't know how it works exactly in those cases..
My mom is a high school teacher at my university (which is private) and she does very good I think, and gets LOTS of vacations !!! which I envy hahaha a lot!!!
Woah! 8°C is very very cold hahahah I'm talking about 13~15°C ... but taking into account that after that we reach 30°C hahaha the change in one day is drastic...
it's good that she let you know ahead of time. not all employees are as considerate.
Here you pretty much need a Masters to teach anywhere from Kindergarten to University level. I have friends who are teachers and they don't make much money at all when you consider how much extra time is involved with lesson planning, seminars, continuing education and so on.
We often do the same thing here. this has been out first cool week all year. We are quite enjoying it. - only going to get to 15 C today! Yay!
Wow, so teachers are also required to be very prepared for every level... that is very good.. but yeah, as you say... it is a LOT of work! I see it everyday with my mom =P
