This has been a rather tiring weekend so far. A huge chunk of yesterday was devoted to purchasing a entertainment center (via CraigsList). The transport (2 trips - so far) and setup took a huge chunk of the day and largely wore me out. It definitely makes the living room look more finished. The Power of The Gimp
I've been working on the photo below off and on for the last couple of days. It required some post processing that I've never had to do before. Since I don't yet have a copy of Photoshop, I'm using The Gimp which is a freeware photo manipulation program. It's pretty powerful, but not very intuitive to use. My doctor gave me the finger!
Yes, it's true. I went in for my physical today. Generally speaking, she was pleased with my condition. My blood pressure has come down to a much more reasonable range. Of course, we won't know the rest of the story until the blood work and urinalysis are complete. I'm keeping my fingers crossed ( Read more... ) -

Whoops! Somehow, nearly a week has slipped by without a journal entry. Work has been extremely intense this week and I expect that intensity to continue for at least another week or two (or three). Quick Post Before Starting Work
I had a nice, relaxing weekend for the most part. We did end up going to Pigeon Forge to go to MagiQuest and I'm glad we did. Although the traffic was even worse than I expected, we had a great time. The weekend has arrived
I am as close to being done with work as I can be for the week. I will have to stay logged in pretty much all weekend and keep an eye on a very long running data loading process but I don't actually have to do any work. I could use a fun and relaxing weekend. Today, I'm the bug
There's a saying that goes "Sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug." Today, work has treated me like the bug. I give up for tonight in hopes that tomorrow will be better.
In other news, I went to the doctor's office today. My blood pressure hit a new personal record of 150/88. Too bad that's the wrong kind of record to be -
