Brief update, no deep thoughts this time. :P

Finished reading Ronald Hutton's Triumph of the Moon. It's a great book. It's importance cannot really be emphasized enough. Great research, very well-written. Reads quite easily despite being fairly detailed.

Finishing Grand Theft Childhood by Kutner and Olson. This is by far the most balanced look at ( Read more... )

I'm still working my way through his Stations of the Sun and I enjoy it although it is weighty. Are you reading Triumph of the Moon for an ADF book review? On the site, it recommends supplementing it with other works due to its emphasis on Wicca. Any comments on that?

I read it because it had been on my to-read list for a while. I had the same feeling: very enjoyable read, despite being quite dense.

Re: ADF book review. I think they ask you to supplement it because it doesn't really deal with druids. It is very witchcraft-oriented. It mentions druids, certainly, especially with regards to druid revival and neo-druidism, but fairly briefly. Hutton has a book called 'Druids' out now, so you might look into that one. It's on my list, I just don't feel like tackling another dense history so soon after finishing this one. :)

Yeah, I saw that he'd released that and I'm wondering if ADF would allow us to read that for the modern Paganism title. Thanks for your input!
