I've been doing this since October, basically. At least. This was one of those that I'd get really into, and then I'd wake up the next morning and it'd be on the back burner again. It sat that way for weeks. But due to recent events in my RL, I've been inspired to work out some of my frustrations on this timeline. OUTLET, LET ME SHOW YOU IT. Well shit, the day after I finished it and wrote this up, those frustrations were worked out IRL. It feels like a little lucky charm of magic or something, so that being said, this one means SO much to me and will always associate it with this time in my life (that sounds so cheesy and ridiculous, but seriously). I look at it now and realize that there was a reason I had never finished it earlier - I was meant to do it now. I feel this video very very much right now on a personal level. ♥ And it was so much fun. This one was an absolute riot for me, because they are both such argumentative, witty little brats and have a very unique history. It's upbeat and it's sexy and it's fun and I really love how it finally filled in.

iPod - 12MB A House/Cuddy video that focuses on their numerous bets and games, and tries to explain why they seem to be making and playing so many all the time - he's not over her (maybe she isn't either). They play cards, destroy each other's property, put each other's jobs on the line, make them look ridiculous in public. And for what? Fun. When she left, House experienced a pain that even his good old Vicodin can't fix. And he won't let her forget it, either (Secret? She enjoys nearly every minute of it. Nearly). Their relationship is just one big game - who comes out the winner? Set to Nothing Ever Hurt Like You by James Morrison.
Notes & Commentary
0:48 - oh this was so much fun SO much fun, you have no idea.
1:01 - I can't believe how many times they've dealt with remote controls. I quite like it, because maybe I'm biased and read too much into things but I look at it as being symbolic of control. And I love when she takes the first one and then he pulls out another one and they BOTH have one, which puts them on equal footing. That's what I think I love about this relationship so much - they're quite equal in terms of power and how much they own and need each other.
1:17 - I really wanted to bookend the chorus with the same scene that the video started with. Also I find this particular clip to be one of my favorites ever and I will probably use it in everything until the day I die. Because she is so adorable and he's so into her it's insane.
1:20 - and so begins the underwear/ass section of the video. HEE. SEE, THIS WAS VERY, VERY FUN FOR ME.
1:44 - her freaking out on those drums.
1:56 - this kills me because this is from two different episodes yet she's wearing the same thing even right down to her necklace. And he's bitching about TVs in both of them. So I got to mix them.
2:03 - annnnd she folds. lol.
2:16 - power shift. He slams the doors in her face as a means of representing that he's kind of trying to get over it. This freaks Cuddy out - she's used to him being all after her.
2:22 - "nothing ever hurt like you". And he thinks of their "one night he gave HER everything she asked for" (which may or may not have happened on that desk...)
2:30 - it's not as clear-cut as they both want it to be. :(
2:49 - they work it out through that needy, explosive, clumsy kiss and you think for a second that maybe it might change... WRONG. They're back to the same old games and competition. Favorite.
3:18 - they are so complicated and this is so complicated I can't even fucking verbalize what I want to say. Which is probably why I edit, because it's the only way I know how to effing speak and explain my thoughts when it comes to these two. So I really hope you know what I mean and what I'm thinking because I have no other way to tell you and klsdjfhas. I just... UGH they are so complicated and so layered and so deep and there is so much here to be seen and thought about and understood. I don't even know.
3:36 - lol, cut right to Cuddy paying her end. The parking space from the wheelchair bet and the TV from the Sweetsauce bet.
3:50 - I had this ending right from the get-go, it was like the fifth thing I did, probably. And then the other day I remembered that she said, "You loooooost" so I had a choice over who could win this war. Or, for a little bit, I had both of them on there, losing, telling each other they lost. But I really wanted House to come out on top for all he went through with having to get over her. It kind of ties in with the beginning - "get over me". Fine, want me to get over you? I will, and you will lose, and will regret ever saying that (but I'll forgive you so we can do it all over again). The whole point of this video is to study how even though House may be the one who's hurt more, he still comes out the winner and still has a smile and a spark for her. And they'll be playing this game until they die, I am 100% convinced. And I wouldn't have it any other way.
♥ as always, I'd love your thoughts. ♥
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME!
