Last weekend was Labour Day here, and as well as getting the Monday off, I took Friday too and drove up to craft camp - an annual meetup with some bloggers-cum-RL friends.
Thank you, I'm so lucky to have this! I wish everyone could go and do that once a year. It's so good for your soul. I think it's my happy place, making stuff, I'm not great at relaxing, I like to be busy :D
I'm not good either! I can't make garments or anything complicated with a pattern, I'm terrible at it. But just zipping up and down in a wave pattern? I can SO do that! Haha :D
oh my goodness this sounds delightful. and QUILTS ahhhhhhh I LOVE THEM. my mom and I are going to be in a cabin doing nothing but knitting and writing for the next four days. we'll see what transpires. Not quit as awesome as this, but hopefully good stuff. :D
lolol YES MA'AM I DO YUP. no but seriously, quilts are amazing - art plus function, and one can never have too many.
It was an EXCELLENT time. I finished a Star Trek fic I started literally six years ago, and finished a knitted baby sweater, and bonded with my mom, and slept a lot. it was fab. :D
It sounds amazing. I love the idea of just going somewhere with room to make. I live in a tiny 4 room cottage filled with books and yarn and fleeces and there's no room for anything. Anything I make needs to fit on my lap in my arm chair as it's all the room I have
( ... )
I'm not a very skilled sewer but I bought myself this machine for my 21st Birthday so it's ...old as balls though not as old as yours! Haha. It still goes, that's the most important thing.
I sympathise with your lack of space! It's so hard when you can't leave your stuff out and have to pack everything up in between bouts of creativity :///
I get itchy too! That's why I normally work on 4000000 things at the same time :D
