I received my copy of "25 Years of Taggart" a couple of days ago. There's a section on the various actors who have played guest roles over the years, including our own Billy Boyd. I finally managed to get that paragraph scanned, so here it is for your delectation:

DMC is a great episode and Billy is fantastic as Jamie. It's well worth getting on DVD - it should still be available through Amazon.
