So the superbowl is come and gone. And from my safe abode I can just see the remains of naked revelry being carted off by caring friends...Remind me never to let drunken people try to carry me. They've brained this poor girl twice on the streetlamp outside my house on their way home....I can only assume they're dear friends since who else would ( Read more... )

I'm glad I wasn't around for that bit of foolishness. Though Patriots fever is running high here too, as you might imagine, and I wasn't unhappy to see them win.

Is it bad that I didn't even know Houston was hosting the Superbowl until Friday?

Sarah--Have fun celebrating. The game was alot better than the pundits made it out to be in the leadup.

Sidra--If you haven't been in town you've probably missed all the billboards changing. So it's not horrible that you didn't know, just a tad odd.

I should hope you wouldn't marry a girl names Wigglesworth. I think your wife might object.

LOL!

(The comment came about a girl named Sarah Wigglesworth. The characters in the book were bemoaning the fact that in the guys family, naming traditions said that the second son must carry the mothers maiden name as his first name. The guy was apparenlty horrified at the thought of a son named Wigglesworth Ravensloft and commented about his crush on the Wigglesworth girl to his current lady love... who had the much more reasonable maiden name Trent.)

I think Alan was just horrified at the thougth of anyone marrying someone named Wigglesworth... although with Hinds-Brofft as a last name... .... :P

With Hinds-Brofft as a last name I firmly veto WigglesWorth alanshb February 3 2004, 13:16:06 UTC
The only thing worse than an excusably silly last name, is an inexcusably silly one. WigglesWorth is the latter. At least Hinds-Brofft is decipherable. Wiggles-Worth? So someone's last name was Wiggles? Or maybe Wig-Glesworth....in which case the hyphen should be preserved. All in all it's too silly.
