I got married in August with a very simple ceremony in a courthouse (actually, a building across from the courthouse with WWII uniforms and such in the room I got married in) with no reception that day, nothing but a lunch out with everyone at a really nommy Mexican place ( Read more... )

I'm with you sister! My wedding certainly wasn't what could be called large, but was much more "traditional". I wanted to elope. The boy resisted. :(

Ours was more traditional for the family. But I refused to spend a god awful amount. I think we totaled maybe $1,000 and that was mostly on food for the cookout. We did the church thing mid afternoon with finger food made by family and friends. Friday night we had a big rehearsal party where we spent all our money. It concluded with a bonfire. Much fun.
