I loved how Dief Dief was, and Ray was spot on. I loved the slow realization of Ray's when he realized just what was going on.
Thank you. This was an excellent start to my day! I, too, hope you will write more due South stories, as good stories are always welcome!

I love a Diefy Dief. *grin* He's one of the most charming parts of the show, and I had a great deal of fun with him in this.
As soon as I've cleared my holiday obligations, I hope to pull more DS stories out of the mental soup. Thank you so much for reading, and commenting! I'm glad I could help you start your day right. :)

I love the idea of Ray trying to communicate in Fraserese, and getting it right (possibly by accident). That line was one of the first stray thoughts that popped into my head when this fic was forming, and it made me laugh right out loud, so I knew I had to include it. :)
As for Dief, man, who could love dS and not get Dief being a proper character? He's got as much - if not more - personality than some of the other side characters. I freely admit this is a gratuitously Dief-heavy piece, because we love him and he's a fun tool to use in a story.
Thanks so much for your kind words, I'm going to be grinning all day. :) Plus, it was neat to re-read this story when it hit my inbox, and remember all the things I loved about it. I've been feeling like pulling out my DVDs again recently, too...
