You didn't strike me as a Lynyrd Skynard fan. When did they get into techno?

It was dull and borinig growing up in New England. For me at least. I was at risk for becoming a soccer-mom conservative until I moved to Boston. Then the Boston years were all about Rock music, due to the afore mentioned Tim and Ed era. It wasn't until I moved to DC area that I found techno/industrial/gothic/punk/etc. Basically, became alive.
