The events of the past week have shown us a great deal more than had before been seen or known of. Evidently, residencies such as my own, as well as the bathhouse and the inn, were visited by the fae. Do we have any other marked occurances? Taking note of anything that happened these past few days seems necessary for future reference. The fae that ( Read more... )

The fair lady with the long fingernails? Many a time and oft have I seen her walk the path from graveyard to the church.

Is that so... Have you any idea of where it seems she comes from?

I do not. I only see her traveling en route, always dressed in fine clothes of one solid colour. For her part, she pays as little mind to me as she does the Dog or the souls.

[A snort.]

Of course, if blood is what she is after, I cannot confess I am surprised.

[He's not going to ask about that. He has, after all, seen Raziel. He doesn't seem the type to have a great deal of blood 8|]

It's regrettable that we have no manner of learning facts beyond experience for the time being, but thank you.

I believe you know my position upon these matters. If there is anything I can to do to help, you have but to say the word.

I would like to propose that we test the effectiveness of iron that has been coated with a solution that protects it from oxygen and moisture against the fae. If we can eliminate the issue of keeping iron on the outside of buildings, we won't need to worry about the possibility of keeping them inside provided they prove effective.

As for this 'chess,' exactly what kind of game is it? I can't say I've heard of it before and I'm... curious.

What sort of solution would you suggest, that we'd be able to create in the necessary quantities with what ingredients we have here, Valeria? The idea is definitely a sound one, but the execution may prove difficult...

[And then he smiles.]

As for chess, it is a game of strategy. Why not indulge your curiosity, Valeria, and watch a game? Perhaps I might even persuade you to join me in one?

Something as simple as a thin coat of paint would suffice. Oil would work well. Were it winter and I was more familiar with the wildlife in the area, I might suggest rich fats boiled to liquid. It's very much possible to acquire these things here, though we may need to test their consistency and alter it somewhat.

[ She pauses, the corners of her lips tugging upward into an easy smile. ]

I would like that very much. You'll let me know when you play, won't you?

Do forgive my rudeness, but...

Find me the materials, all of them, and I will do tests with them.

On the iron? I'd be interested in working on coatings first...

Hm. Perhaps those hunters might know a thing or two that Miss Valeria doesn't, wouldn't you say? Or the... [And the hesitation is, to be fair, only brief] Alchemists might know something...

As for the water... if I could borrow Earl Maldini for an hour or six?

If he is consenting, of course.

[Which he will be, because he's a good aide.]

It's true that others may be able to tell us more. I will leave that matter with you for the time being.

We should make use of the rowan's safety as well. I think there's trees on the island - what if we gathered some branches and berries from there?

On the island? It's certainly an option, and one we should consider in earnest, having proven that the creature guarding the area can be defeated...

If we all work together, I don't think we need to be worried about anything. We've got a lot going for us.

[Like pallydad, and some princes and nobles, and bearddad....]

It won't be hard to get across. Maybe we can grow our own rowan here as well.

[we're a happy family~]

Surely we'd be able to find some in the forest, also. It seems odd that there would be none... but I suppose that place does seem far more built to the fae's favour than our own.
