I'm waiting for the story to be finished before reading, TBH. When I do read the stories, I like to read all the way through and ignore the A/N the first go. If the story was awesome [which it will be because you're the one writing it, so come on] I go back and read it again and also read the A/N. It's like watching a movie and then following it up with the Director or Actor commentary turned on. [Like watching Avengers with Joss Whedon's commentary is SPECTACULAR and I imagine it would be a similar experience with you]
Do it if you want to. Who cares what other's think. If they truly don't want to read the A/N they will just skip it. What matters is you do what makes you feel good. We, as your readers, just benefit from whatever you do.
The way I've used A/Ns in the past largely makes them irrelevant when reading later. Often it's just a brief comment on my RL as I post. And, thank you. ♥ I will try to put something interesting in, then. Although I doubt it will reach SPECTACULAR levels, haha.
You have little faith in your fans. Like, I've heard people go crazy over the commentary for something that I found mundane. It may not be spectacular to you, but your fans will think so =]
And I like reading about the author's RL sometimes too because it's just a connection to the person. Kind of like how everyone watches JK interviews and what not.
Haha, I don't think it's so much a lack of faith in the readers as the knowledge that I'm not really that interesting. But hey, IF I CAN FOOL YOU ALL THEN NO PROBLEM. ;)
