Hmm, I'm not sure we're talking about the exact same claim. Your article is covering a claim from the Republican party that the cost for every household of 2.6 people will be $3000 a year. The article I was referencing was also from the Republican party, but it was a chart which came out of the Ways and Means Committee and gives a chart covering the estimated increase in power costs per capita that would occur under a 100% auction program, based on the Stern Review's recommended carbon price of $85 per ton. According to this chart the cost increases would vary by state. The estimation for Colorado is a bit over $700 per person, so $1400 for us
