Yay! I watched it yesterday. Did I do a geeky little squee-dance of joy as it started? Yes, yes I did.
I know a lot of people were kind of upset at the direction change of the show, but I found it interesting (wherever could they be drawing inspiration from?). The Cylons belief that they are "saving" humanity, Tye's belief that the ends justify the means, no matter how horrific, the role of collaboraters, some of whom went into it believing they were doing the right thing...this is good stuff to explore. I'm looking forward to the season.
I also giggled at the sight of Apollo. He needs to back off the Haagan-Daaz. Dualla must be so disappointed. The other scene that made me giggle (and it really shouldn't have) was the meeting between Boomer and Callie, 'cause you know, awkward.
As for Callum Keith Rennie and his Bunker Condo o' Love, I have no idea what his motivation is, but the thing with the kid occured to me too, so I've decided he's lying like a rug, that Casey is a ploy to get Starbuck to warm up to him. The "

Uuuuuuhh...that's way too much math for me, especially after stuffing my face with food this Thanksgiving weekend. Maybe the kid's big for her age? Dunno. Go ask Ronald Moore on his blog or something
